My Dress and A Escalator Does Not Mix!!!

This is another post on me and clothes.
One day, my sister-in-law, Calla and her daughter Jessica came to visit us. April and I took them to Scottsdale Fashion Square to wander and enjoy the afternoon. We took Jessica to the "Build A Bear" store and I think we had more fun looking at all the options of what to build than she did.
But the funny part of the day happened before we got to that store. We had to go down a floor and got on the escalator. I was leaning on the side turned so I could visit with my family and about half way down I noticed that my dress was pulling funny. I pulled at it to fix it, but that did not help. I looked down and found that the corner of my dress was caught in the corner of the escalator and the thing was gathering up my dress more and more. I started to pull on my dress to get it out, but that did not work. The dress was getting pulled more and more and getting tight around my legs. I started sweating - trying to figure out how the heck I was going to get out of this mess.
I could just see my dress being pulled tighter and tighter and thought: If this continues, this is going to just pull my dress off.
What was I going to do? By that time, Calla noticed my problem. It was beginning to get scary. It was also funny - so between the laughing and the panic - I was in "great shape". Ha Ha
The panic really set in hard and I started getting frantic trying to pull that dress out of the gears of the steps on the escalator. We were getting close to the bottom and I didn't know what was going to happen - but whatever it was - it was not going to be good or pretty.
But,somehow the Lord was smiling on me and at the last second, I was able to jerk the dress free! Saved from a disaster!!! My dress had some small holes and black guck on it, but I was ok - still dressed - and not damaged.
I don't know why me and my clothes have to have issues - but we do. Maybe to give me something to laugh about years later or a funny to story to tell. I do have to say that these clothes stories have gotten a lot of laughs around a table. This particular story could have had a very ugly ending - clothes ripped off - or myself being hurt.
Now when I get on a escalator - no matter what I am wearing - I stand in the middle!!
No more leaning for me.

Oh honey just think of the lawsuit. You might have retired off the settlement had that pulled you in all the way.So funny that you have not one but several stories about clothing malfuntions. I can't think of one.

Hee hee. This is enough to make me never want to wear a dress to the mall. ;-)
