Annual Girls Christmas Lunch

My Girls: Fran, Laura, Me, April, Lani

This year was another great time with the girls in my family. I had the adult Ornament Luncheon on the 4th of Dec. and the little girls Ornament lunch on the 18th. These two events are my favorite things to do at Christmas. I have a lot of fun planning lunch, preparing and then off to the stores to find "that just special ornament". The girls seem to enjoy. We missed Shannon so much. But her baby is due in Feb. and she does not travel. While we were out at Thanksgiving, I took her shopping for her ornament - but forgot to document with a picture. Great ;o((((
The only challenge I have is finding room on my tree for the new ornaments for the year. They have a $10 limit on ornaments with the rule that there has to be 2 of the same ornaments so mine will match theirs. Some places we go shopping they have sales on ornaments and they gals can get 2 ornaments for their $10. Which means that I have to find room on my overful tree for 14 new ornaments between the adult and little girls.
I don't care. I just smile and move things here and there to cram in another ornament. I am a little concerned about next year. I don't think I can put anymore on my family tree. Oh - I might just have to get another tree. LOL!!! I will worry about that next year.
For the adult girls I made homemade chicken pot pies, with a yummy salad. Chocolate bundt cakes with peppermint ice cream for dessert. We were all so stuff from dinner, that most took their dessert home.
For the little girls we had pizza and veggies with mini carrot cakes and mini brownies. They loved it.
My table decorations this year were trees once again. I did paper cut trees and they turned out beautiful. They don't fold up and proved to be a little challenging to store away for next year. But I did it.
Can't wait until next year to plan and have another fun time with the girls. When we were all finished, I told Cliff that my Christmas was done. All the rest was great, but the girls lunch is the best. LOVE THOSE GIRLS!
